To aid the footage we knew we needed to put the story in context
of it being a deadline. We thought the most logical and best way to do this
would be through using time pop ups on the screen acting like a countdown. We thought
it was necessary to not just put the time but also how many hours to go,
pushing the idea of working under time pressure. This also helped the video
flow smoother.
Going through the clips and editing the footage was the most time
consuming part of the project. Saying this it was also my favourite part seeing
all the work we put in slowly come together. The majority of the clips needed
major trimming back. This was due to having more than 1 angle from each shot. This
meant the clips where a lot shorter and more concise, it made the film pace
move a lot quicker than it would have done with one shot.
With my title sequence I tried to keep it really simple. It’s a pan
wide angle shot of LCA which zooms in, and the title scrolls in from both the
left and right. This title borrows ideas from the Office UK title and Casey Neiststats
vlog which starts with a simple Helvetica in white on top of the image. I have
used the font Hiragini Kaku Gothic StdN. It’s a similar version to Helvetica creating
a neutral simple scene before the film starts.
As well as this I shot a couple of time lapses to show the longer
periods of time in which there aren’t any scenes. I like these shots as it
creates a different pace to the film. I got inspiration for these shots from
vloggers who tend to use this technique a lot. I tried to capture shots with a
lot of movement as these look best in time lapse settings.
